Support License Mobility with PBA

Li ∙ cense
Noun, verb li ∙ cens ∙ ing
1. formal permission from a governmental or other constituted authority to do something, as to carry on some business or profession.

Salon professionals face several state regulations that prohibit them from practicing their craft and conducting business when moving across state lines. License mobility allows a licensed professional in good standing - whose documentation in education and experience is substantially equivalent - to be able to qualify for licensure from one state to another without further examination. In support of this effort, the Professional Beauty Association (PBA) is working to help stylists relocate from one state to another with minimal interruption to their ability to practice their trade.

“At PBA, we work on behalf of beauty industry professionals. Lobbying for the government to allow stylists relocation from one state to another with minimal interruption in their ability to practice their trade, is just one of our advocacy efforts,” stated Sam Levyas, PBA’s Director of Government Affairs. “If every salon professional was aware of this movement and united individual efforts, our voice will be heard.”
