Tangled hair can be a drag to deal with, especially if you have long and fine hair. Whether it be from the weather or the pool, the key is to prevent your hair from tangling in the first place.
Here are some tips to take those tangles out of your hair.
- Take a brush to your hair before washing to get any existing knots, tangles, and loose hair out. Wet hair tangles easily so make sure you brush beforehand.
- Make sure you use a wide-toothed comb. A brush with too many bristles can damage and pull your hair out, creating more tangles.
- Use a detangler product after your shower. There are several different types from spray mists to serums. These detanglers make your hair slick without creating a sticky texture, allowing your comb or brush to glide through your hair easily.
- Tangles generally happen at the end of your hair. Always brush from the bottom up. If you start from the top, stray hairs and tangles will be pulled down to the bottom of your hair where most of the tangles are making it extremely difficult to brush through. Start slowly from the bottom, and then work your way up to the top of your hair.
- To prevent tangling while blow drying, use a wide-toothed comb attachment and blow dry your hair in sections rather than sporadically.
