Blow-drying your hair in minimal time will give you a more relaxed morning. You can sleep more, eat breakfast before leaving for work and get your day started sooner than before. You need a plan to cut down your time and using the “less is more” principle will with your hair product help you achieve this goal.

Each day when you get out of the shower, wrap your hair in towel to get the excess moisture out. When your hair is in the towel do not rough it back and forth. The cuticle gets roughed up; it opens it up and causes more frizziness. Be gentle with your beautiful locks and they will treat you well.

Gently comb through your wet hair, keeping in mind that it is most fragile when it is wet. Apply a small amount of your favorite styling aid and maybe “cocktail,” mix a few together. Use one to control frizz and one for body, mix them up in your hands and apply from roots to ends.

Rake your fingers through your hair while you blow dry until it is 80-90% dry.  You can do this upside down, sitting or standing. It should only take about 10 minutes. Then use a clip to section off the top part of your hair in a loose bun on top of your head. Use a good quality ceramic round brush and finish drying the bottom section until it is completely dry. Then release the clip from the top section and continue to round brush your hair until it is completely dry.

Even if you want smooth, straight hair, it is ok to blow-dry your hair up and outward. Gravity will pull it down as the day progresses. So be brave and go big, allowing the planet to eventually pull it down.

I suggest styling your hair without a mirror and incorporating the “less is more” principle when using products in your hair.  When you overuse products or style your hair too much, your style is less likely to look good for long.

This entire process should only take about 20-25 minutes and if you are careful not to use too much product, it will last you two to three days.
